Cooking in Progress

May 3
1 min read

Every weekday, the cooking follows a simple rhythm. Pots of rice and beans simmer gently, or posho is served alongside beans—warm, filling, and familiar. The children know what to expect, and the meals bring a quiet kind of comfort.

But Sunday is different.

On Sunday mornings, there’s a buzz in the air. The usual routine gives way to something special. The smell of chicken cooking slowly fills the space, drawing smiles and excitement from the children. Laughter comes easier, plates are filled a little higher, and the meal becomes more than just food—it becomes a small celebration to look forward to, week after week.
